A Regular Meeting of the Youth Advisory Board of the City of Peoria, Arizona was convened at 
8866 W Thunderbird Road in open and public session at 6:32 p.m.

Members Present: Katherine Brown, Tyler Ashcroft, Victoria Garcia, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Austin 
Hatfield, Mariah Hearne, Kelly Jasper, Ramon Mendoza, Thomas Prior and Sean Proia.

Members Absent:  Shelbie Staley-excused, Tyler Arkin-unexcused, Jasmine Bejarano-excused, 
Hunter Finn-excused, Meg Grose-unexcused, Callie Hartson-unexcused, Jacob Jelinek-unexcused, 
Victoria Johnson -excused, Brooke Heisserman-unexcused, Shelby Park-excused and Anthony 
Silva-unexcused.

Municipal Officials Present: Kevin Naughton; Teen Supervisor and Jennifer Eccles; Customer 
Service Representative

Presentation: None

MINUTES:  A motion was made by Tyler Ashcroft to approve the minutes of the November 9, 
2010, regular meeting. The motion was seconded by Victoria Garcia and, upon vote, carried 
unanimously.

Disposition of Absence: 
Discussion and possible action to excuse the following members Shelbie Staley-excused Tyler 
Arkin-unexcused, Jasmine Bejarano-excused, Hunter Finn-excused, Victoria Garcia-unexcused, 
Elizabeth Gonzalez-unexcused, Austin Hatfield-excused, Brooke Heisserman-unexcused, Kelly 
Jasper-excused, Shelby Park-excused, and Anthony Silva-unexcused from the regular November 9, 
2010 meeting.

A motion was made by Tyler Ashcroft not to excuse the members listed above for unknown 
reasons and to excuse those with reasons.  The motion was seconded by Victoria Garcia and, 
upon vote, carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

3R	HOLIDAY EVENT FOLLOW-UP
Discussion and possible action to review the outcome of the Holiday Event fundraiser. Revenue 
of $110 was made at the event. Next event will not use vendor to sell items. Need to contact 
NHS and clubs needing volunteer to get help selling items at events.


4R	 ADAPTIVE SWEETHEART DANCE
Discussion and possible action for the Youth Advisory Board members to attend the February 
11th Adaptive Recreation Sweetheart Dance.  A motion was made by Elizabeth Gonzalez to have 
the board members attend the Sweetheart Dance. The motion was seconded by Kelly Jasper and, 
upon vote, carried unanimously.

5R	YOUTH GOVENRMENT DAY 2011
Discussion and possible action to establish Board Member duties for the March 31 Youth 
Government Day event. Discussed what is needed: T-shirt design, Guest Speaker, same food as 
last year, use fire/police department more in tours and aim to get 75 student participants.
