A Regular Meeting of the Sister Cities Board of the City of Peoria, Arizona, was convened 
at 8401 W. Monroe Street at 5:35 p.m.

Members Present:  John Buonagurio, Patty Fusco, James Flonacher, and Penny Hughes

Members Absent:  Joya Kizer Clarke and Bonnie Apperson

Other Municipal Officials Present: Claudia Lujan, Assistant to the City Manager and Terri 
Smith, Assistant to City Council

Member of the Public Present:  None present

Note:	The order in which the items appear in the minutes is not necessarily the order in 
which they were discussed at the meeting.

Consent Agenda

A motion was made by Board Member Hughes, seconded by Board Member Flonacher to 
approve the consent agenda.  Upon vote, the motion carried unanimously 4 to 0.

Unfinished Business:   

3R	CENTENNIAL TIMELINE PROJECT – YOUNG AMBASSADOR TIME CAPSULES

Staff presented the updated plan of the 2011 Peoria Young Ambassador delegation for the 
exchange of centennial / centenary time capsules with the Borough of Ards.  The 
ambassadors delegated portions of the capsule project among themselves for procurement.  
The capsule and contents will be unveiled at the Young Ambassador Farewell Reception 
on Thursday, July 14, 2011.  The Peoria delegation will then transport the time capsule and 
present it to the Ards mayor at their farewell event in August.  The Peoria delegation will 
report back to the Sister Cities Board in the fall on the outcome of the exchange.  No action 
was taken.






4R	YOUNG AMBASSADOR UPDATE

The full itinerary for the two week visit of our Sister City youth delegation from the Borough 
of Ards was shared with the full board.  Discussion took place about various events.  Board 
member Clarke committed to providing complimentary host baskets for the visiting 
delegation through the cooperative efforts of her company and vendors to the business.  No 
action was taken.


Reports from Staff:

The Sister Cities Board will recess for the summer with no meetings scheduled in July or August.  
The next scheduled meeting of the Peoria Sister Cities Board is September 15, 2011.
