Flashing Yellow Lights being Installed on Five Intersections
The City of Peoria has installed the FYA at eight intersections and will implement FYA at two additional intersections in the near future.
- 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road
- 83rd Avenue/Cotton
- 83rd Avenue/Peoria Avenue (North)
- 83rd Avenue/Peoria Avenue (South)
- Lake Pleasant Road and Beardsley Road
- 83rd Avenue and Oraibi Road
- 83rd Avenue and 18895 North
- 100th Lane and Happy Valley Parkway
The new FYA signal operation is shown to be safer than the five section protected / permissive signal. They were installed at 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road to enhance the safety of the intersection.
A Traffic Study was performed that shows the three intersections on 83rd Avenue and the new intersection at LPR and Beardsley will function better by allowing a permissive movement for left turners instead of exclusive protected left turn movements.Download a copy of the Flashing Yellow Light Flyer.
