The purpose of this grant is to reduce diesel emissions by using verified emission control technologies. Six West Valley Communities (cities of Avondale, Glendale, Goodyear, Peoria, Surprise, and the Town of Buckeye) partnered to apply for funding to support individual city efforts to reduce pollutants from vehicles. The City of Peoria requested funds to assist with the purchase of six hybrid garbage trucks and to off set bio-diesel costs.
