Volunteers Needed for Arbor/Earth Day Event
City Seeks Help with Tree Planting and Trail Cleanup

PEORIA, Ariz. (Jan. 25, 2010) - Peoria is looking for volunteers to assist with its Arbor/Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to noon in Rio Vista Community Park, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road. Individuals will be provided with the tools and materials to plant vegetation and/or clean up the recreational trail adjacent to the park.

This free event, which is expected to attract several hundred people, will help clean up the park and promote a healthy lifestyle for families. The event will comprise: tree/shrub plantings; river/trail cleanup; and educational classes and booths.
