12/18/2009
Construction
on the Loop 303 at Happy Valley Parkway is nearly finished. The newly-completed
freeway ramps will be open Dec.21, connecting northbound Loop 303 and Happy
Valley Parkway; Happy Valley Parkway to southbound Loop 303. The Loop 303 ramps
north of Happy Valley Parkway will remain closed until the completion of the new
freeway, which is scheduled to open to traffic in 2012.
The new roadway features a traffic signal with dual left- and right-turn lanes
entering and exiting Loop 303, as well as two through traffic lanes in each
direction. When the new interchange and roadway opens eastbound, Happy Valley
Parkway will be restricted to one lane and there will be temporary ramp
restrictions through late December to complete the roadway improvements.
From Friday, Dec. 18 at 9 p.m. through Monday, Dec. 21 at 5 a.m.,
Loop 303 will be closed in both directions between US 60 (Grand Avenue) and
Happy Valley Parkway. The new section of Happy Valley Parkway will open to
traffic Dec. 18 at 9 p.m., prior to the Loop 303 closure. During the closure,
there will be no access to or from Loop 303 at Happy Valley Parkway.
Only local traffic access will be provided between US 60 (Grand Avenue) and El
Mirage Road. Northbound traffic on Loop 303 will be detoured onto US 60
southeast to Bell Road, east to 99th Avenue/Lake Pleasant Parkway, then north to
Happy Valley Parkway. Drivers can access southbound Loop 303 by taking Lake
Pleasant Parkway/99th Avenue south to Bell Road, west to US 60 then northwest to
Loop 303.
