City Celebrates Happy Valley Road Completion
Gets Commuters from Loop 303 to I-17

PEORIA, Ariz. (Nov. 5, 2009) – The city of Peoria
will dedicate a new segment of Happy Valley Road at a celebration on Saturday,
Nov. 21, from noon to 2 p.m. The new roadway extends from 83rd Avenue west to
Lake Pleasant Parkway. This final segment will connect Happy Valley Road all the
way from I-17 to the Loop 303.
The celebration features a 12:15 p.m. dedication and ribbon cutting at the 91st
Avenue end of the segment, followed by an opportunity to bike, walk, or skate
along the new roadway. The public may also enjoy a local business expo, free
kids activities and entertainment. Attendees also can bring a new unwrapped toy
for the Peoria Firefighters Charities Annual Holiday Toy Drive or a
non-perishable food item to benefit Valley View Community Food Bank.
Those attending can park at Lowe’s Home Improvement on the northeast corner of
Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway. A shuttle will be provided. This
segment of roadway will open to traffic on Sun. Nov. 22.
