Peoria CARES Event Gives Back to Community

11/3/2009

City employees collected 2,858 cans of food for the Valley View Community Food Bank during their Peoria CARES charity drive in October. They also donated 570 clothing items to Goodwill, 76 pairs of eyeglasses to the Lions Club, 29 wireless phones to victims of domestic violence and 17 packages of supplies to Alta Loma Elementary School. In addition, they gathered 739 plastic grocery bags for recycling through the Bag Central Station project.
