PEORIA, Ariz. (Oct.
30, 2009) – Senior adult walkers can strut their stuff at the 12th annual
Turkey Trot, a 5K fun walk for ages 50 and older on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Rio
Vista Community Park. A Mashed Potato Mile has been added to the event for those
who want to walk a shorter distance.
The events are set for
8 a.m., with check in starting at 7:30 a.m. under Ramada No. 8 in the park,
which is at 8866 W. Thunderbird Road. An all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage
breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. by Peoria firefighters. Door
prizes and goody bags will be part of the fun, as well as live music by Manuel
Dorantes. Registration is $15; folks who sign up by Friday, Nov. 6, will receive
a commemorative T-shirt.

recreation.peoriaaz.gov or can be picked up from the Rio Vista Recreation
Center or the Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson St. Completed forms may
be dropped off at those two locations or mailed to the Peoria Community Services
