PEORIA,
Ariz. (May 8, 2009) – Peoria’s three pools will be opening up just as the Valley
sees triple-digit temperatures. The pools, located at Sunrise, 21321 N. 86th
Dr.; Centennial, 14338 N. 79th Ave; and Peoria, 11200 N. 83rd Ave., high
schools, will open on three consecutive weekends: Saturday, May 9; Saturday, May
16; and Monday, May 25, respectively. Admission will be free on opening day.
If it’s
swimming lessons you’re interested in, then register early to save a spot:

Southwest Ambulance and City of Peoria have teamed up to offer FREE swim
lessons. The lessons are only for City of Peoria residents and at Peoria Pool.
Classes are available in the mornings and the evenings. A session consists of
eight, 30-minute lessons. Register online beginning May 12.
• Summer
Swim lesson registration for Session 1 (May 26 to June 4), begins on May 12 at 6
a.m. Lessons will be held at all three pools. Lessons are offered in two week
sessions and include the following: Parent/Tot, Preschool, Ages 6 to 18, Adult,
Diving Class, One-on-One lessons, Senior Water Aerobic, and Water Walking and
Aquatic Fitness classes. Lesson times are available in the evenings and the
mornings. Class prices vary but start at $18 for residents.
