Rec Division Offers Details for Water Classes, Lap Swimming

Register for spring swimming lessons to be held in the heated pools at Centennial and Sunrise Mountain high schools.

There will be four sessions of lessons, the first starting Monday, March 26. Classes are 30 minutes long and run every 35 minutes. Classes being offered are: Level 1-6, Lifeguard Training and Deep Water Aerobics, as well as stroke and conditioning schools for summer swim team members. Fees vary for the different classes. Registration begins March 5; visit recreation.peoriaaz.gov or call the Community Services Department at 623-773-7137. All classes are taught by certified American Red Cross water safety instructors.

In addition to the classes, lap swimming will begin on Monday, March 26. Weekday lap swim times will be 3:30 p.m. through 7 p.m. The cost will be $1.50 for adults, but an individual swim pass good for spring and summer can be purchased for $20.
