Contractor Clarifies Closures for Happy Valley Road Work

The contractor on the Happy Valley Road project has clarified its plans for nighttime road closures the week of April 20. The section of road between 91st and 95th avenues will be closed at 9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights and reopened at 5 a.m. the subsequent mornings. This is necessary so crews can dig a trench for electrical lines. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. Nearby residents may hear noise from construction vehicles. When work is completed in the winter of 2009, Happy Valley Road will carry three lanes of traffic in each direction with bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.
