Yearlong Mascot Contest Puts Focus on Water Conservation
Pictures and Clues Will Help Players Locate 'Misty,' the Big, Blue Drop of Water
3/1/2007
Peoria’s Water
Resources Division will run a yearlong “Where in Peoria is Misty?” contest to
promote the importance of water conservation. From March 1 through February
2008, Misty – a mascot resembling a big, blue drop of water – will tour Peoria
looking at ways water is used. Each month, a photo of Misty and a clue to her
location will be posted on
conserve.peoriaaz.gov,
air on Peoria’s Channel 11 bulletin board and be mailed to local newspapers.
Every month, an individual, family or household can submit one guess about
Misty’s location on the Web site; by fax (623-773-7291), using a form that can
be downloaded from the Web site; by mail (address: Where in Peoria is Misty?,
Utilities – Water Conservation, 8401 W. Monroe St., Peoria, AZ 85345); or in
person at the City Hall Annex, 8314 W. Cinnabar Ave.
March clue: They
say diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Saving water saves money for other things
like diamonds - but there's no mining involved with these diamonds.
