Courses Teach Tots Kindergarten Readiness, Crafts, Cooking

Registration is under way for preschool recreation and enrichment classes offered through Peoria’s Community Services Department.
• “ABCs & 123s – Kindergarten Readiness” will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Tuesdays, starting April 21. For kids ages 3-6, it includes activities designed to promote language skills and mathematics readiness for kindergarten.
• “Parent-Tot Crafty Creations” will run from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays, starting April 21. Children ages 2-5, along with a parent or guardian, will create one-of-a-kind projects using a variety of art media.
• “Wee Little Chefs” will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays, starting April 22. Children ages 3-5 will have fun with food, decorating cookies and cupcakes, preparing no-bake snacks and making other fun foods.
All three courses run for six weeks and take place at Rio Vista Recreation Center. They are $64 for Peoria residents, $69 for non-residents. The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 15. For more information or to register, call 623-773-7137 or visit www.peoriaaz.gov/classes.
