Rec Center Offers Wall Climbing, Jump Roping
1/7/2009
Rio Vista Recreation
Center has rolled out its 2009 climbing-wall and jump-rope programs.
• Climbing is a fun way to burn calories and build strong muscles and bones, and
the center’s 25 ft. climbing wall has six routes with varying degrees of
difficulty. The Mountain Goat Challenge is for kids ages 5-12; the Mystery
Mountain Climbing Challenge is for people ages 13 and above. The challenges are
open to Rio Vista pass holders; prizes for both will be courtesy of Credit Union
West and Solid Rock Gym.
• In partnership with Saguaro Skippers, the center is offering competitive jump
rope clinics from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and practice sessions from 3:30
p.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The program is open to pass holders ages 9-14.
Rio Vista offers a variety of passes, including daily youth passes that start at
$3. For more information, visit
www.peoriaaz.gov/riovista or call 623-773-8600. Rio Vista Recreation Center
is located inside Rio Vista Community Park at 8866 W. Thunderbird Road.
