Celebrate Season Amid Oldtown Peoria's Friday Night Lights

Peoria’s Oldtown Holiday Festival will be Friday, Dec. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 83rd Avenue south of Grand Avenue. Celebrate the season among carolers, the soft glow of lighted trees, the aromas of roasted almonds and kettle corn -- and nearly 20 tons of snow brought in from the “North Pole” to smooth the way for Santa’s sleigh. There also will be a high school choral competition, cookie decorating, make ’n’ take crafts, magicians and jugglers, plus a market area full of vendors displaying a variety of hand-crafted and specialty items.
