ADOT Starts Work on Thunderbird at Loop 101 Interchange

The Arizona Department of Transportation is expected to begin widening Thunderbird Road beneath Loop 101 this week. Work will widen Thunderbird to three through lanes in each direction and two left-turn lanes for cars heading onto the freeway in each direction. Contractors expect to keep existing lanes open during morning and evening rushes, but motorists can expect some closures at other times. The work is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2009.
