PEORIA,
Ariz. (Oct. 9, 2008) – City officials, a consultant, and the public advisory
committee will meet on Monday, Oct., 20 at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Pine Room to
discuss the ongoing update to the Central Peoria Revitalization Plan.
The goal
of the update is to establish a framework and strategy for revitalization of
historic Oldtown Peoria and the surrounding area. During this meeting, the group
will discuss several of the projects main components including urban design,
circulation, economic development, and historic preservation.
This will
be the first of three working meetings scheduled over the next seven months for
the 28-member group. The group is made up of Peoria residents, downtown business
owners, developers, and board and commission members who will act as a steering
committee.
The
public will be invited to learn more about the plan and provide feedback at an
open-house workshop on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Pine Room.
