PEORIA, Ariz. (May 21,
2008) – The Peoria Arts Commission is seeking an artist to create and install a
piece of indoor artwork at the Rio Vista Recreation Center. The work could be a
painted mural, sculpture, sculptural relief or similar medium.
The project budget is
$50,000, which includes the artist’s design and work, as well as related costs
such as materials, site preparation, labor, construction, transportation,
storage, installation, lighting and the artist’s liability insurance.
A selection committee
will invite up to three semifinalists to develop complete proposals. Each
semifinalist will receive a $1,500 stipend to pay for out-of-pocket costs such
as models, drawings and travel to and from Peoria.
