Swenson to Succeed Ellis as City Manager

The City Council has appointed Deputy City Manager Carl Swenson to replace City Manager Terry Ellis on July 1. Ellis is retiring after 11 years on the job. Swenson came to Peoria in April 2006 to be deputy city manager for development and community services. He has more than 25 years of municipal government management experience, including 10 years as village manager for Oak Park, Ill., a city of 52,000 adjacent to Chicago.
