Proposed Northern Peoria Hospital Clears Zoning Hurdle
5/7/2008
The City Council voted unanimously May 6 to rezone a land parcel in northern Peoria in a way that will permit the creation of a hospital and medical center. The proposed Peoria Regional Medical Center would be built on a 48-acre parcel along Lake Pleasant Parkway north of Happy Valley Road. The initial phase would include more than 30 private emergency rooms, along with 30 inpatient beds, in a 70,000-square-foot facility. Plans also call for the hospital to feature a full range of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, complete surgical services and an on-site pharmacy. Planned future phases would expand the number of inpatient beds and add medical office buildings to the site.
