Conserve Water By Skipping Overseed This Year

A Bermuda or Bermuda-hybrid lawn requires more than 55 inches of water per year with winter overseed, and more than 40 inches per year without. Compare that to Peoria’s average rainfall of 8 inches. Instead of overseeding, consider saving time, money and water by converting to low-water-use to Xeriscape -- nature’s choice of landscape. The average Xeriscape requires less than 18 inches of water per year. Peoria utility customers should visit conserve.peoriaaz.gov or call 623-773-7286 before starting to see if they qualify for a Xeriscape-conversion rebate.
