Peoria Police Host Largest Bike Safety Event in the State
On Saturday February 9th, the Peoria Police Department will turn the Peoria Sports Complex into a Bicycle Rodeo.

On Saturday February 9th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Peoria Police Department will turn the Peoria Sports Complex into a Bicycle Rodeo. More than 3,000 people are expected to fill the complex for this family friendly event aimed at educating and entertaining riders of all ages.
The event will offer young riders a chance to practice their bike skills through an obstacle course. Peoria Motorcycle Officers will be on hand to teach kids important safety rules and will be emphasizing the importance of wearing a helmet. Any child needing a new bicycle helmet will be fitted with one for free. Minor repairs to kid’s bikes will also be provided for free to attendees.
Throughout the day more than 50 children's bicycles will be raffled off and adults will also be able to participate in raffles from dozens of vendors. During this event kids will be able to enjoy fun on and off their bikes with climbing walls, bounce houses, police demonstrations and free food and drinks.
