To mark the successful completion of the first phase of its Old Town
Commercial Rehabilitation Program, the city of Peoria will celebrate the grand
reopening of Wagoner I Plaza in Old Town on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.
Wagoner I Plaza is located on the southwest corner of 84th Avenue and Peoria
Avenue. The public is invited to attend this event to see the renovation, as
well as to learn about the next phase.
Wagoner I Plaza is the first phase to be completed through the Old Town
Commercial Rehabilitation Program. This program, adopted by City Council in
October 2010, was designed to promote and assist in the improvement of Old Town
commercial properties through exterior rehabilitation of building facades and
related site improvements. The city’s goal in using the program is to revitalize
the commercial district and reinvigorate private investment in the Old Town.
A slide show depicting before and after scenes will be presented within the
building of Wagoner Plaza’s new restaurant AZ Kitchen Mexican Café.
Attendees are encouraged to use the city parking lots, accessible from 84th
Avenue, between Washington Street and Jefferson Street. Available parking at
Wagoner Plaza will be limited on the day of the event.
