Peoria's Pioneer Days Festival Parade Has Opening for Entr
Families, friends, schools, groups and businesses are encouraged to enter a float in the parade which goes through historic downtown Peoria.

If you ever wanted to be in a parade the city of Peoria and Peoria Historical
Society have a great opportunity for you and your family. There is still time to
enter a float or participate in the Pioneer Days Parade scheduled for Saturday,
April 14 in Oldtown Peoria at 83rd Avenue, just south of Grand Avenue.
Pioneer Days is a celebration of Peoria's heritage which dates back to the
late 1800's when the town was first developed by settlers from Peoria, Illinois.
The parade begins at 10am. The parade route is a little over a mile and will end
at approximately 11 a.m., at which time there is a free Peoria Family Picnic at
the new Osuna Park for all parade attendees and participants. There is no entry
fee to enter the parade.
Each entry must have eight or more people to march or with seven or less people
you must be in or around a form of moving transportation (car, tractor, hay
wagon, horse, family/group wagon float, etc.). Each entry is encouraged to be
decorated with creativity and style adhering to the traditional celebration of
Peoria’s Pioneering History. This year’s theme is “Moving through Peoria’s Past
and into the Future”
Entry forms are available online at www.peoriaaz.gov/specialevents. In addition,
the Pioneer Days Parade is featuring a Family/Group Wagon Float Contest.
Families or groups can decorate and design a float using their family wagon. Be
creative and have fun. The wagon floats will all be grouped and march together.
Wagons entering in this category cannot be pulled by a motorized vehicle.
