Household Hazardous Waste Requires Special Disposal

Peoria residents can dispose of household hazardous waste for free on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Municipal Operations Center, 8850 N. 79th Avenue. Many household items - such as paint, batteries, motor oil, and antifreeze - require special disposal as hazardous waste. Dumping these wastes down the drain or in the trash hurts the environment and can potentially harm people who come in contact them.
