Final Stage of 91st & Olive Road Work Brings Restrictions
Left Turns Prohibited for Several Weeks
10/20/2010
The next few weeks
around the intersection of 91st and Olive avenues will be akin to ripping off a
Band-Aid, as a final stage of road construction there will bring major
restrictions for five weeks. Starting Thursday, Oct. 21, no left turns will be
permitted in any direction at any time – day or night. In addition, westbound
Olive will be restricted to one lane. This is so work crews can install new
medians and mill, pave and stripe the intersection. Officials expect to complete
this by Thanksgiving, though December will see some mop-up work adjacent to the
roads. The intersection should be completed by the end of the year.
A second road project
in the area – the widening of Olive under the Loop 101 overpass – is expected to
continue through February. Construction crews will complete the north side of
the road by Thanksgiving, then turn to the south side and medians. To prevent
traffic backing up into the intersection of 91st and Olive, left turns from
westbound Olive to southbound Loop 101 will be prohibited. Please pay attention
to posted signage.
