Peoria Schedules Water-Conservation, Landscaping Classes

Peoria is staging a series of free water-conservation and landscaping classes this fall. The series includes:

“Landscaping in the Arizona Desert” – (offered twice) Tuesday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., or Wednesday, Sept. 15, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“Low Desert Herb Gardening” – Thursday, Sept. 16, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
-
“Plant Selection and Planting” – Wednesday, Sept. 22, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
-
“Landscaping for Small Spaces” – Tuesday, Sept. 28, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
-
“Vegetable Gardening Through the Seasons” – Thursday, Sept. 30, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
-
“Xeriscape: Desert Fusion Garden Lecture and Walking Tour” – Saturday, Oct. 2, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
-
“Year-Round Color” – Thursday, Oct. 7, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“Landscape Watering 101” – Thursday, Oct. 21, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Most of the classes will be in the Point of View Room, off the lobby of Peoria’s Development and Community Services Building at the northeast corner of 85th Avenue and Mountain View Road. However, the Sept. 22 class will meet in the City Hall Pine Room and the Oct. 2 session will convene in the Willow Room of the Main Library.
