Cycle Fit Is Low-Impact, High-Intensity Cardio Workout
6/22/2010
Burn more than 400
calories in less than an hour while enjoying a great view and listening to
motivating music in Peoria’s new, four-week Cycle Fit classes. This workout uses
a specialized stationary exercise bike for a low-impact, high-intensity
cardiovascular workout that builds strength and endurance. A certified
instructor guides and motivates each class through a variety of movements,
speeds and resistance levels -- synchronized to a music soundtrack that sets the
pace. Anyone 16 or older can enjoy this class, from beginner to advanced, since
each student moderates his or her own pedaling speed and resistance. Water
bottles are mandatory and a small towel is recommended. Classes will be at Rio
Vista Recreation Center on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting July 8
or Saturdays from 11 a.m. to noon starting July 10. Registration is $28 for
Peoria residents; $35 for non-residents. To sign up, call 623-773-7137 or visit
www.peoriaaz.gov/recreation.
