Cycle Fit Course Offers High-Intensity, Low-Impact Workout
4/20/2010
Burn more than 400 calories in less than an hour while enjoying a great view and listening to motivating music in the new Cycle Fit class at Rio Vista Recreation Center. Using a specialized, stationary exercise bike, this popular indoor exercise provides a low-impact, high-intensity cardiovascular workout while building both strength and endurance. A certified instructor guides and motivates each class through a variety of movements, speeds and resistance levels synchronized to a soundtrack that sets the pace. Each student moderates his or her own pedaling speed and resistance. Water bottles are mandatory and a small towel is recommended. The class, for folks age 16 and older, will meet from 11 a.m. to noon the first four Saturdays in May. Registration is $33 for Peoria residents, $38 for non-residents; the deadline to sign up is Thursday, April 29. For more information or to register, call 623-773-7137 or visit
