Library Celebrates 'Bravo Peoria!'
3/3/2010
PEORIA, Ariz. (March
3, 2010) – The Peoria Public Library’s annual LibraryFest is bigger and
better this year. That’s because we’ve added the arts to create a new event
called Bravo Peoria!
The community based
celebration will take place on Saturday, March 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
Sunrise Mountain Library. It will feature:
-
Children’s
Activities: Toe tapping entertainment, laughter and foot stomping fun for
the little ones. Reptile Rick, a ventriloquist and a magician will be on
stage. Kid Krafts and art projects keep the little ones busy between
performances.
-
Performing Arts:
Broadway and Lincoln Center will come to mind with the lineup we’ve booked for
this day. Theater Works and young performers from Peoria Unified School
District will share their exceptional talents.
-
Visual Arts:
Local artists from Peoria Fine Art Association, Peoria Unified School District
and elsewhere will be selling their works.
-
Parisian-Style
Antique Flea Market: If you can’t make it to Paris for their renowned
market, we bring Paris to you. Peruse booth after booth of collectibles,
furniture and art. Mid-century modern, Victorian or Eastlake, you probably can
find it here at a reasonable price.
-
Friends of the
Library Book Sale: There really is no such thing as owning too many books!
The Friends have row upon row of donated books for sale at very reasonable
prices. Join the hordes of people and find a stack to enjoy.
-
Autographed Books:
The Poisoned Pen Bookstore and Press, which regularly supply the library
with bestselling-author visits, will be selling autographed books from
favorite writers.
Sponsors and partners
include Friends of the Library, Theater Works, Peoria Unified School District
Arts and the city of Peoria.
Sunrise Mountain
Library is located at 21109 N. 98th Ave., off of Lake Pleasant Parkway.
