Kids Club Aims to Get Pre-Teens Off Couches

Rio Vista Recreation Center and Universal Athletic sponsor a fitness program aimed at kids ages 8-12. The O.T.C. (“off the couch”) Kids Club is designed to increase interest and participation in fitness activities through year-round classes, events and education. Classes offered at the rec center include kickboxing, jump rope and rock-wall climbing. A Saturday morning yoga class for parents and kids recently was added. Club activities are free with a Rio Vista pass. A monthly pass for a youth starts at just $15. Incentive prizes for members have been donated by area merchants.
