Mesquite District Update for December 17, 2012
|
107th Avenue & Happy Valley Road
Several weeks ago, along 107th Avenue, south of Happy Valley Road, an EPCOR water line broke. The break occurred underneath a box culvert that is very deep. The rework is fairly extensive, requiring roadway restrictions. Work was originally scheduled for completion by December 12, 2012. Unfortunately, additional leaks were discovered over the weekend, extending the construction schedule.
As EPCOR works to finish these repairs, the roadway paving and striping is scheduled for completion by Friday December 21, 2012. All traffic control devices will be removed at that time.
The following week, EPCOR will complete the landscaping, irrigation repairs, and the street light reinstallation. With this work scheduled to begin on Wednesday December 26, 2012, drivers will experience temporary restrictions, although northbound and southbound access will be available. Weather permitting, EPCOR has estimated this work to be completed within two weeks.
Happy Valley Road & the Aqua Fria River Crossing
The City of Peoria is working to complete the Happy Valley Roadway bike lane striping across the Aqua Fria Bridge. In order to allow the outside shoulder/bike lane to be striped, MCDOT required that the jersey barrier be raised. Construction is being completed one side at a time, with traffic restrictions. Work is scheduled for completion by the end of December.
Lake Pleasant Parkway & State Route 74
Along Lake Pleasant Parkway, just south of State Route 74, we also have temporary lane restrictions as the City of Peoria completes pavement rehabilitation work. Work is scheduled for completed by the end of December.
