Mesquite District Update for March 7, 2013
Because many Peoria residents use the existing park-and-ride lots at the Church of Joy (75th & Loop 101) and Glendale Park-and-Ride (99th & Glendale), we want to make sure Peoria residents are invited to participate in the meeting.
The City of Glendale is conducting a North Glendale Park-and-Ride/Transit Center Study to determine the location and type of new transit facilities needed to serve current and future transit needs. The study identified and evaluated 13 potential sites in northwest Glendale for their suitability in locating a future transit center and park-and-ride facility. An analysis of current and future transit passenger travel demand was also conducted to determine future facility needs.
Through this process, six possible candidate sites have been recommended for further evaluation. These include:
- Four possible park-and-ride locations along Loop 101 between Union Hills Drive and 51st Avenue.
- Two possible sites at Arrowhead Towne Center for a transit center and park-and-ride facility. Both locations could be a stand-alone transit center or a transit center with a park-and-ride.
Transit Passengers and Residents are invited to provide input on possible transit facility locations in the northwest valley. Please attend the below public meeting or take the online survey.
