Peoria's 15-Minute Makeover
2nd Annual 15-Minute Makeover scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2011
Peoria's Second Annual 15-Minute Makeover is a community-wide effort to spruce up the city, one home at a time. Think of all you could accomplish around your home or neighborhood in just a few minutes. Are the weeds growing a little tall? Do your trees need trimming? have you been putting off planting those flowers or putting a fresh coat of paint on your gate? Then join your neighbors for a little makeover on March 26 - grab a trash bag, go outside, and clean up the area around your home and neighborhood. Just a few minutes can make a big difference.
Everyone can participate by stepping outside and clean up where you live, work, learn and play. That can be a school playground, an alleyway, front yard, sidewalk, parking lot, etc. The goal of a 15-Minute Makeover is to encourage community pride. People who have the strongest community bonds feel the highest obligation not to litter. Peoria's 15-Minute Makeover will be a very positive and proactive event for the community. Keeping Peoria clean and beautiful is up to all of us. A clean city is a safe city.
Participants are encouraged to dispose of the litter and debris in their own garbage containers. All participants are asked to register online or register by calling (623) 773-7415. Prizes will be awarded at random by those who register.
DISCLAIMER: The “City of Peoria 15-Minute Makeover” is a totally voluntary activity, and the City shall not be responsible for any personal injuries or property damage resulting from participation. By choosing to participate in the activity, all participants assume their own risk.
