Seven Steps to Solar
The City of Peoria encourages its residents and businesses to pursue alternative forms of energy.
Your Path to Solar
Follow these 7 steps to get solar use approved for your house or business.
Select a solar system designer and installer.
The contractor will design a system for your needs and complete a building permit application.
The contractor will submit the application form and two (2) sets of plans of the system to Peoria's Building Safety Division.
Upon design approval, the applicant (contractor) will pay a $50 fee to obtain a permit and the approved set of plans (approval of plans takes 7-10 days if a complete application is submitted).
The contractor can then install the solar system.
Once installation is complete, the contractor must call the city for an inspection (Building Safety Division: 623-773-7225.)
If the job has been done as per the approved plans, the job is complete.
Congratulations! You have officially gone solar.
